The Moldovan Government has enacted a regulation which will result in passenger compensation and support when the travelers are denied to board the plane, the flight is cancelled or delayed for a long period of time.<\/p>\n

The move is part of Moldova’s commitment to comply with the requirements of the European Common Airspace, a project which Moldova wants to join soon.<\/p>\n

The main goal of this regulation is to make sure the airlines operating to and from Moldova respect the passengers’ rights.<\/p>\n

For flights of 1,500 km or less, the airlines will have to pay up to 250 Euro for heavy delays or cancellations. Over 400 Euro is the compensation for flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km. For other, longer flights, the airlines will be required to pay up to 600 Euro.<\/p>\n

If a flight is cancelled, the airlines have to provide food, drinks and a room in a hotel.<\/p>\n

Although not very developed, the Moldovan air market still needs improvements, especially after registering an increase in the number of passengers travelling by plane to and from Moldova. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
