The issue was discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Economy, Valeriu Lazar and CEO Gas-Natural Fenosa, Antoni Peris.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Investments cover both traditional energy and renewable energy sources, for which domestic and foreign companies show an increasing interest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&ldquo;We are interested in building power generation capacities that would use waste product. In Moldova there are also opportunities in traditional electric power generation sector, by making the most of the relationships with natural gas suppliers, the transit country status, existing capacities and interconnection lines that can be exploited and expanded, as well as scarcity of electricity in the Balkans. We set an ambitious goal in the Energy Strategy 2030 &ndash; Moldova to become an active player on the regional energy market&rdquo;, Valeriu Lazar said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In the context of energy market liberalization in Moldova, Antoni Peris emphasized the importance of promoting fidelity policies for electricity consumers, such as energy efficiency, energy audit to complement the range of services provided at the highest level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Gas Natural Fenosa is a multinational company, leader in gas and electricity sector in Spain. It disposes of all types of traditional energy generation and distribution, including atomic power, combined cycle, coal, and renewable energy: wind power, solar and thermo-solar power. It has direct access to energy sources: gas extraction, coal and the entire chain of transportation, production and processing to the final product.
