Over 15,000 live in the remote zones of the French cities, some of them having no home to live in. Roughly 90 percent of gypsies who live across France are from Romania.<\/p>\n<p>The French Government has decided to ease the employment procedures in order to integrate them based on the European Union&rsquo;s principle of respecting the freedom of movement of persons, goods, services and money.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, next week the French authorities will partly remove the working restrictions for the Romanian and Bulgarian nationals. The Romanian Government has already welcomed the initiative.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the decision of the French Government to partly lift the restrictions on their labor market for the Romanian and Bulgarian citizens. Moreover, we welcome the way the French Government is constructively dealing with the integration of Roma,&rdquo; the Romanian Foreign Ministry informed in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Making the access of Romanians and Bulgarians to the labor market more flexible will actually ease their integration and allow fighting more efficiently against the black labor and mafia networks,&rdquo; the Minister of Territorial Equality and Housing C&eacute;cile Duflot said in an interview with France&rsquo;s BFMTV.com.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the new regulation, the French employers will be exempted from paying certain taxes while hiring a Romanian or Bulgarian national. The Government will also expand the list of jobs which can be performed by the two Eastern European member states which joined EU in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The European Union seems happy that France is complying with the European legislation to protect the nationals of the EU residing here. EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion L&aacute;szl&oacute; Andor said that he is welcoming this decision and recommends France to lift all working restrictions in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I welcome the decision of the French government to ease the access to certain professions for Bulgarian and Romanian workers, and to lift the employment tax. This is a step in the right direction towards creating a truly European approach to employment. I would encourage France to look at lifting all further restrictions on the free movement of workers,&quot; EU Commissioner L&aacute;szl&oacute; Andor said.<\/p>\n<p>This way France is trying to repair some mistakes they did a few years ago when thousands of gypsies were forced to return to their home countries, while their hasty camps were being destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Not only recipient countries, but also countries from which Roma people come need to work hard on improving their socio-economic integration. This is a genuine European issue and the more seriously it is addressed in the Council, the better. Better inclusion of Roma people in Central and South-Eastern Europe is also an opportunity for economic development. Better use of EU structural funds can significantly contribute to improved education, employment, housing and health of Roma minorities,&quot; the EU Commissioner added.<\/p>\n<p>Besides France, seven more countries keep their restrictions for the Romanian and Bulgarian nationals on their labor market.
