Republic of Moldova is one of the most vulnerable countries in what concerns energy sector. The finding belongs to the expert of the Program Energy and National Security within the Centre for Strategic and International Studies of USA, Edward C. Chow.<\/p>\n

Today, in the framework of the meeting with Prime-minister Vlad Filat, the expert spoke about the need to drive rapid diversification and efficient management of energy resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the discussion focused on the situation in energy sector, the diversification of the energy resources of the country and existing trends on the global and regional markets.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prime-minister mentioned that Republic of Moldova would like to diversify its energy resources and examines existing opportunities. At the same time, he made a presentation of the current situation in the energy sector, mentioning as well the pipeline Iasi-Ungheni, to be put into operation by the end of 2013, at the connection of the power line Balti-Suceava.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vlad Filat also spoke about Moldova’s interest towards alternative energy resources, as well as about the implementation of EU’s II and III Energy Packages.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
