The Republic of Moldova receives a loan of $19 million from the International Development Association (IDA). $18 million come to finance the project called “Competitive Agriculture.” Another million will be spent for the implementation of “Quality Education in Rural Areas” project. The financing agreements were ratified on July 11 by the Moldovan Parliament, Moldpres news agency reports.<\/p>\n

“The loan given within the "Competitive Agriculture" project is meant to enhance the exports’ competitiveness, to attract investments and to result in full trade integration into the EU. The project envisages actions meant to improve the food safety management, to enhance the access on the market and to increase the productivity of farmlands through their sustainable management,” the source informs.<\/p>\n

Both projects are due to be implemented by 2017. The total amount of the projects hikes to $27.4 million, part of the funding coming from two foreign grants and internal proceeds.<\/p>\n
