Wind power becomes an alternative solution to getting electricity. It is not very costly and some foreign companies can be attracted to make investments. The opinion belongs to Lena Mantle, expert from the United States, quoted by Infotag.<\/p>\n

During a workshop in Moldova’s capital of Chisinau, Ms. Mantle said that implementing projects on renewable energy sources could improve the energy security of Moldova. According to her any decision in the realm must be thoroughly considered from the point of view of costs, to not allow electricity tariffs become unaffordable.<\/p>\n

Oleg Izvoreanu, who is expert working for the Ministry of Economy, a National Energy Efficiency Fund will soon start operating in Moldova. <\/p>\n

"In April, the government adopted a provision on the Energy Efficiency Fund that provides financial instruments and project selection criteria. Thus, 100 million lei are provided for financing such projects in 2012", Mr. Izvoreanu said.<\/p>\n

According to some already-set plans, the authorities together with the investors are planning on increasing a share of biomass-based fuel in a total used fuel by at least 10% before 2020 and to reduce the total energy consumption by 20%. At the same time, greenhouse gas emissions must go down 25% at least.
