Moldova’s trade deficit is close to $1 billion in January-April time period. It went up with 8.5% more than during the same period of 2011, Infotag news agency reports.<\/p>\n

“Imports to the country grew by 7.4% over the year, to US$1.631 billion. Last year, the condition was diametrically opposite and exports outstripped imports. A share of exports to the European Union made 49.1% this year, against 50.4% one year prior; exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States member countries grew on the contrary – to 40.6% from 38%,” the agency informs.<\/p>\n

The National Bureau of Statistics claims that the Moldovan economic agents exported during the first four months goods worth $687.5 million. Over $300 million commodities were re-exported.<\/p>\n

The top consumers of the Moldovan commodities are Russia, Romania and Italy. Supplies shipped to the New Zealand went up 202.5 times, to Spain up 10.5 times, to Iraq up 5.7 times.
\nThose sent to Turkey, Greece, Lithuania and Belize almost halved.<\/p>\n
