The administrative board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will consider a check-up certificate of Banca de Economii (BEM) complex during the next week.<\/p>\n

NBM Vice President Emma Tabarta told Infotag news agency that it cannot be ruled out that when examining results of the inspection at BEM, the market regulator may propose own guidelines to the bank to improve some indicators.<\/p>\n

“Bank owners should not resort to organizing 2 extraordinary meetings (on April 12 and 13), which worsened their relations even more,” said Mr. Tabarta, referring to the conflict of interest among the stockholders of Banca de Economii.<\/p>\n

"Due to stockholders do not want to get down to negotiations and come to an agreement with one another, the bank will have problems. I think that the only way out of the emerging situation is an agreement between stockholders, and I do not see another way out", the representative of the market regulator said.<\/p>\n

A group of BEM stockholders possessing 28% stocks have previously accused the representative of the government (56% of stocks) of paralyzing the bank work.<\/p>\n

Denis Corotchevici, representative of the company Lectom said that the bank cannot work accordingly as it “does not have a full and functional board.”<\/p>\n

According to a Banks & Finances-Profit magazine rating 2011, Banca de Economii ranked at the bottom in a group of banks with assets of over 3.5 billion lei. Its rating makes 2.3404, while the indicators of the group bank leader and in the system makes 4.6991, Infotag reports.
