The electric power contract between Moldova’s ENRGOCOM and Ukraine’s DTEK POWER TRADE has been extended today after it expired on April 1. According to a press release, the quantity of electric power which will be imported monthly under the conditions stated in the contract is enough to supply RED NORD and RED NORD-VEST providers with the necessary energy.<\/p>\n

The consumers will have to pay $0.069 per kWh. ENERGOCOM is a commercial energy provider on the Moldovan market and its main activity is to import and export electric power being responsible to negotiate contracts with the foreign suppliers.<\/p>\n

On April 1, 2012, DTEK Power energy provider ceased its energy flow to the Republic of Moldova due to the expiration of the contract. Therefore, Moldova continued to take electricity from Ukraine, but the country has been accused of illegal import.
