The Republic of Moldova and Belgium will mark 20 years of diplomatic relations on March 11, 2012. In this regard, the Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a joint meeting with the Ambassador of Belgium Kingdom to Moldova, Philippe Beke, that several events will be organized in Moldova’s capital of Chisinau.<\/p>\n

Belgium will send to Moldova an important mission of businessmen during the fall of 2012 in order to work on some economic projects. A Moldovan-Belgian Chamber of Commerce will be opened today in Chisinau. Currently there are 44 Moldovan-Belgian enterprises on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Alpha Industries, Moldabela, Carmez, Party World and others are among the Belgian enterprises opened in Moldova.<\/p>\n

Willy Claes, the ex-Minister of State and ex-Secretary General of NATO, present at the meeting, said that he has personally contributed to the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries, stating that opening the Chamber of Commerce is a new round in the developmental process of these relations. He emphasized that more investments will be done on the Moldovan market and asked for a greater export of Moldovan goods. Mr. Claes said that the Moldovan wine is of “a very good quality and it should be known by the European consumers.”
