\nMoldovan judges have demanded the state to increase salaries and build up number of judges in final judicial authorities.<\/p>\n

At the annual meeting of judges on Friday, Chair of the Supreme Council of Magistrates (SCM) Dumitru Visternicean said the number of suits and materials went up, so the existent judge staff is not able to examine them all.<\/p>\n

"The number of cases went up to 235 thousand in 2010. Judges have no time to cope with such flow of cases. So, a judge has to examine over 100 cases per month, while the standard is 57 cases", Visternicean said.<\/p>\n

According to him, it necessary to urgently build up the number of judges and to increase their salaries, so Moldovan citizens would no longer doubt the efficient case examination.<\/p>\n

Visternicean said the average salary of a trial judge is up to 4 thousand lei per month; of court of appeal’s judge – 5 thousand lei; and judge of Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) does not exceed 7 thousand lei.<\/p>\n

"However, some judges can not be recognized good professionals, correct and independent, the fact is being proved by over 2.4 thousand complaints against judges, filed to the SCJ. Most complaints, curiously enough, are filed against the SCJ, but it is the highest authority, where people can find the justice", the SCJ Head said.<\/p>\n

Acting President and Parliamentary Speaker Marian Lupu said he is dissatisfied with the work of some judges, and big number of complaints, filed to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) against Moldova.<\/p>\n

"Only experienced specialists and persons impartial in their activities can be proposed at the post of judge. How it is possible that 50% of cases, examined in the ECHR, are concerned of mistakes and judge incompetence, if the ECHR must go in for difficult cases, which can not be solved in Moldova, in fact", Lupu said.<\/p>\n

He advised judges to analyze cases more careful and to give fair judgments, as well as to think over the fact that some people, who go to court, give their last money to seek justice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
