\nThe licencing chamber has announced the available quotas of goods exported to the European Union. Thus, Moldovan exporters can market in the EU 332,000 tons of wheat and meslin, 34,800 tons of barley, 18,050 tons of maize, 26,000 tons of white sugar, as well as 88,878.75 hectolitres of grape wine other than sparkling wine.<\/p>\n

Except for sugar, a part of the quotas for products for which Moldova pays no import duties while exporting them to the EU, have been already used. Thus, the licencing chamber said that the overall wheat quota for 2011 is 40,000 tons, barley 35,000 tons, maize 30,000 tons, white sugar 26,000 tons and 100,000 hectolitres of wines.<\/p>\n

A report by the licencing chamber, made public on 19 January, shows that 99.99 per cent of the wine quota, 99.73 per cent of barley, 98.29 per cent of wheat and 100 per cent of maize were used in 2010.<\/p>\n

Last November, the European Commission ruled to increase the quotas for wines by 80 per cent in 2011 and the Autonomous Trade Preferences were extended till 2015. The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament are to confirm the decision.<\/p>\n

On 2 December 2010, the government approved an action plan on the creation of a Comprehensive Free Trade Zone between Moldova and the European Union. These actions should be implemented by 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
