\nThe petrol price went up by 0.4 lei on 16 January, reaching 15.35 lei (0.93 euros) per one litre of A95 petrol. The diesel oil price increased by 0.7 lei, amounting to 14.1 lei per one litre. Thus, the price of petrol went up by almost 3 per cent and the price of diesel oil by about 5 per cent in most fuel filling stations.<\/p>\n

Importers explain the increase by higher fuel prices at refineries and international exchanges, where one barrel of oil is worth 100 dollars, figure reached for the first time since September 2008.<\/p>\n

This is the first rise in fuel prices in 2011. Data by the National Statistics Bureau show that the fuel prices grew by 25.1 per cent in 2010, including by 5.4 per cent last December against November 2010.<\/p>\n

According to the National Bank of Moldova, the country imported 135,002 tons of petrol in January-September 2010 (7,089 tones from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and 127,013 tons from other regions) and 223,007 tons of diesel oil (101,022 tons from the CIS and 154,065 tons from other regions).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
