\nThe National Labor Inspectorate (NLI) registered 42 industrial accidents with lethal outcome, where died 48 persons, which is 9 persons more against the 2009 level.<\/p>\n

Head of the labor legislation observance department under the NLI Victor Turcan said the number of industrial accidents goes up in spite of the more severe labor legislation, because employers continue ignoring labor safety preventive measures.<\/p>\n

"Most frequent industrial accidents with a lethal outcome occur in the field of construction, energy sector, processing industry and agriculture", Turcan said.<\/p>\n

According to him, there were registered 373 industrial accidents last year, which are 60 cases more than in 2009.<\/p>\n

"About 400 persons were injured due to accidents, which are 70 persons more than in 2009. But fines became higher, employers became more disciplined, they announce about all industrial accidents, where employees were injured in", Turcan said.<\/p>\n

He said that people who became disabled due to industrial accidents have one-time paid benefit depending on the average monthly salary in the country and the degree of disablement.<\/p>\n

"Families of persons who died in industrial accidents have the one-time paid benefit depending on the average annual salary of the employee, multiplied by the number of years he had to live till 62 years old, but not less than 10 annual salaries", Turcan said.<\/p>\n

The representative of the Labor Inspectorate also said if the employer is guilty of the industrial accident in full, he pays the one-time paid benefit at the amount of 100%. If employers refuse paying one-time paid benefits, families or other representatives of dead persons can file a suit to the court.
