\nThe Chisinau Primaria will force all economic agents that own historical edifices or architecture monuments in downtown Chisinau to repair and to maintain them at initial state.<\/p>\n

During the operational meeting in the Primaria on Monday, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said there will be applied severe sanctions to regulations infringers.<\/p>\n

According to him, the Primaria prepared special memorial plaques that must be installed at all historical and architectural monuments of the historical downtown Chisinau for preventing the illegal demolition of such edifices.<\/p>\n

"It [downtown Chisinau] was damaged seriously within last years because many old edifices were demolished or reconstructed by new owners. It is necessary to forbid that. Due to the register of historical edifices and monuments of the municipality, the Primaria will try to register and to prevent the demolition or illegal reconstruction", the Mayor said.<\/p>\n
