\nThe 1st general agricultural census (GAC) from the Moldova independence proclaiming will be conducted from March 15 to April 15, 2011. The respective decision was adopted at the meeting of the republican committee for GAC, led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar.<\/p>\n

He said the census purpose is to obtain as much as possible trustworthy and capacious information necessary for elaborating a policy for the agriculture and its development, and also for negotiating about the Moldova’s joining to the European Union.<\/p>\n

There will be collected data about agriculture in all within the census, including about citizens’ farms, regardless of their dimensions.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said that 1 GAC and 2 GAC forms elaborated for the census will include next data about a farm – the plot using purpose, total number of cattle, farming buildings, labor force, phytosanitary preparations, fertilizers, irrigation, ecologically clean farming, non-farming activities and placing of plots and cattle.<\/p>\n

As Infotag already reported, the last agriculture census was organized in Moldova in 1984. It was aimed at the estimation of perennial plantations. The Government started preparing to a new agricultural census in 2007. The state intended to cover by the census all-type farm enterprises, orchard-garden partnerships, orchard and vegetable garden plots, private persons – owners of plots, cattle, poultry and bee-families. Authorities projected to spend about 5.5 million euros for the census, but it was postponed for several times due to the money absence.<\/p>\n

In November 2010, the Swedish Government decided to provide Moldova via the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) with a grant at the amount of 20.4 million Swedish kronor (US$2.9 million) for conducting the census.<\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Swedish grant is a half of the sum (67 million lei) necessary for the census; the rest of the money will be assigned from the Budget, and the European Union will provide 1 million euros.<\/p>\n

Romania said in the beginning of December 2010 that it will provide Moldova with about 500 thousand euros for organizing the agriculture census.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
