\nThe European Union will grant Moldova 41 million euros to build its institutional capacities, so as to fulfill the commitments due to be taken within the future association agreement.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the head of the EU Mission in Chisinau, Ambassador Dirk Schuebel today signed a framework document on a comprehensive programme on institutional development in 2011-2013, which is a part of the Eastern Partnership launched by the European Union.<\/p>\n

Filat said that the document is aimed at building the state institutional capacities in the context of the public administration reform, stepping up the state based on the rule of law and observing the human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as preparing Moldova for a future free trade area with the EU.<\/p>\n

The prime minister said that, while enforcing this document, the European Union will ensure experts’ support, the implementation of twinning projects, i.e. exchange of experience with similar EU public institutions, specialized programmes, transfer of equipment and modernization of the infrastructure, etc.<\/p>\n

This framework document is a logical continuation of a memorandum signed with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule last May. The act is based on the implementation of key reforms, the success of which will allow achieving the pre-conditions necessary to sign an association agreement with the EU and create a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Zone with the European Union.<\/p>\n

Dirk Schuebel said that Moldova undertook important steps towards European integration.
