Moldovan wines have kept the second position in low-alcohol category of the Russian markets, excepting imported vermouths, after French wines. These results were presented by the Federal and Regional Alcohol Market Research Center (FRAM) on Friday, which made a report concerning structural changes of Russian legal alcohol market for 1H2010.<\/p>\n

According to center’s experts, Moldovan wine had the chance to become number one wine in this category, but "bans can cause that Moldovan products will reach 3rd rank according to the year results".<\/p>\n

The FRAM said that Moldovan agrarian authorities are forced "to recognize their sins and to repent, and to convince the rest of the world (because this wine goes mostly there, not to Russia; Russia takes only 30% of products today, but it was 90% in 2004) that this wine is good (that is proved by occident tests)".<\/p>\n

"We shall honestly admit that wine relationships at the authority lever are deadlocked. But product supplies continue, thank God", experts said.<\/p>\n

The FRAM said it is glad that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide Moldovan wine producers with money – to invest in new vineyard projects, to buy equipment and techniques for vineyard cultivation, for marketing expenses.<\/p>\n

Recently, the RosPotrebNadzor rejected over 1 million liters of Moldovan wines and prepares to send them back them under the pretext that it found dangerous substances in it. Moldovan wine quota at Russian markets was about 12-13% in 2009. Moldovan has supplied to Russia alcohols to an amount of US$35.9 million which is by 57% more than analogous period of 2009.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
