Moldova just cannot give up its wine exports to Russia, and shall be abiding by all rules and requirements Russia would put forth", Moldovan Deputy Premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar stated to journalists.<\/p>\n

He admitted the Government certainly works to diversify Moldova’s export markets, but in nearest 10-15 years Moldova will be not able to re-orient its traditional wine exports from the vast Russian market over to other countries.<\/p>\n

"The European Union area is renowned for its tough competition because EU countries over-produce wines. Moldovan wines have fairly good chances to settle at EU markets, but this will take much time and investment to promote our wines to Europe", believes the Deputy Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

Touching on RosPotrebNadzor’s claims to the quality of Moldovan wines, Lazar said that every country indeed has the right to set its own demands to be met by foreign exporters, "but such demands must be equally fair to all suppliers".<\/p>\n

In his words, the Moldovan Government is ready to redouble its control over the quality of wines shipped to Russia. He presumes the wine certification authority should be entrusted to several laboratories, not only to the National Center.<\/p>\n

Valeriu Lazar said the wine supply negotiations with RosPotrebNadzor shall be continued. Moldova’s chief technical negotiator at the talks is Andrei Gurin, Director of the National Inspectorate for Alcohol Produce Quality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
