{"id":260966,"date":"2010-04-02T15:02:39","date_gmt":"2010-04-02T15:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.moldova.org\/2010\/04\/02\/rethink-moldova-program-countrys-mid-term-strategic-priorities-207824-eng\/"},"modified":"2010-04-02T15:02:39","modified_gmt":"2010-04-02T15:02:39","slug":"rethink-moldova-program-countrys-mid-term-strategic-priorities-207824-eng","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/rethink-moldova-program-countrys-mid-term-strategic-priorities-207824-eng\/","title":{"rendered":"Rethink Moldova program &#8211; country&#039;s mid-term strategic priorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><p>The Moldovan government has unveiled the programme Rethink Moldova, providing for the country&#8217;s mid-term strategic priorities, during the recent meeting of the Consultative Group &#8211; Partnership for Moldova Forum in Brussels, Deputy Premier and Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar told a news conference today.<\/p>\n<p>Lazar said that the government is set to restore Moldova&#8217;s economy by promoting economic growth based on exports and investments as opposed to the current model based on imports and consumption which proved its inefficiency.<\/p>\n<p>The economic block of Rethink Moldova covers the top goals of sustainable economic growth which are included in a string of strategic planning documents, such as the Economic Stabilization and Restoration programme, the National Development Strategy and the government&#8217;s action programme, Lazar said.<\/p>\n<p>In the context, Lazar noted that the community of donors approved the following tasks for strengthening economic capacity: improving business conditions, fostering business development, promoting an economic growth model based on export by creating industrial parks, enhancing the efficiency of the farming sector, creating high-value agriculture, developing infrastructure, including the one of roads, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Lazar pointed out that of the 1.9 billion euros due to be offered to Moldova in 2011-13 by the development partners, 432,860 million euros is meant for the economic sector, of which 18 per cent will go for water and sewerage, one per cent for the improvement of the business environment, three per cent for fostering the development of businesses, 10 per cent for the energy sector, 21 per cent for agriculture and 47 per cent for the restoration of roads.<\/p>\n<p>Valeriu Lazar specified that 49 per cent of the entire assistance offered to Moldova will be provided by international institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the UN.
