Already at its first working sitting, the new Government of Moldova will take decisions on ruining monopoly schemes, Vlad Filat stated at the meeting he organized on Monday with the representatives of the civil society, employers’ associations, trade unions, business circles and the media to discuss the goals and priorities of his would-be cabinet.<\/p>\n

He stated point blank that all the monopoly schemes had pursued an objective of accumulating incomes for the ruling Communist Party.<\/p>\n

"The country is in a chaos. Non-reimbursed VAT sums are just tremendous. Draft amendments to the Law on the 2009 State Budget were to be prepared by government yet in the first half of the year so as to be submitted to Parliament for consideration and approval by September 15 at the latest. In reality, however, the outgoing Communist Cabinet did not care to start the amendment work even at the level of an idea", Filat said.<\/p>\n

He remarked that the economic crisis has been a severe reality that requires working out efficient measures to govern the country in such a hard time.<\/p>\n

Dinu Armasu, Chairman of the Foreign Investors’ Association, highlighted the importance of building a really law-governed state in Moldova in order to ensure a favorable investment climate here.<\/p>\n

"The VAT has failed to be reimbursed in Moldova for nearly 2 years now. This fact is tarnishing the investment climate very seriously. People of business have exhausted their reserves. Some are even considering closing down their businesses here", Armasu said.<\/p>\n

Filat assured the civil society’s proposals will be carefully considered. He welcomed the society to speak out painful problems resolutely.
