Moldova plans to increase the annual export of wine in bulk to Russia up to 6-7 million dekalitres. The move will be favored by a string of agreements recently reached by the Moldova-Vin Agricultural and Industrial Agency and the Russian Rospotrebnadzor trade and sanitation service. <\/p>\n

The director-general of the Moldova-Vin Agency, Tudor Copaci, made statements to this effect at a today’s news conference, held after a recent meeting with the Rospotrebnadzor head, Gennadiy Onishchenko. Copaci specified that, in Moscow, the two sides agreed that, in order to rise the export of wine in bulk to the Russian market, Moldova is to present information about enterprises, quantity and schedule of export of the wine production. <\/p>\n

Besides, to complete the list of economic agents which can export wine in bulk, we also presented a list of 69 primary wine-making enterprises, Copaci said. Presently, only six enterprises can export wines in bulk to Russia. The two sides also agreed that Moldovan alcoholic beverages should be shipped via the terminals placed in the Russian cities of Bryansk, St Petersburg and Kaluga, in addition to the current crossing point Solnechnoye. The number of these points is likely to increase in the long run, Copaci said. <\/p>\n

During the first six months of 2009, Moldova exported about two million dekalitres of wine in bulk, down by 30% against same period last year.
