The Social Democratic Party of Moldova (PSDM) has offered to the Democratic Party (PD), the Centrist Union of Moldova (UCM), the ‘Moldova Unit\u0103’ Party of Spiritual Development and independent candidates sharing Centrist outlooks to run for Parliament jointly, should an early election be held. <\/p>\n

PSDM leader Dumitru Braghis told that the current political crisis in Moldova can be overcome only if a united Left-Centrist force appears on the Moldovan political scene, a force able to ensure stability in the country and its development. Braghis said that the Moldova Unit\u0103 has already agreed to this idea. <\/p>\n

As for the PD and the UCM, negotiations with them are still under way. In his words, a united electoral bloc should be formed on the basis of the PSDM, for it polled the highest number of votes at the 5 April parliamentary elections of all the organizations concerned (3.7%). <\/p>\n

Braghis dispelled assertions that the departure of former PSDM Secretary General Eduard Musuc and several dozen other party members had allegedly shattered the party’s positions. He stated that, on the contrary, this only consolidated the party because quite many citizens were reluctant to vote for the PSDM due to Musuc’s presence in it. It was said that a total of about 300 members quitted the party lately, ‘but many of these people began returning upon hearing that Eduard Musuc had decided to join the Communist Party’. <\/p>\n

Dumitru Braghis said unity of the Social Democrats and other Left-Centrist forces is necessary also for a soonest-possible getting Moldova out of economic crisis. <\/p>\n
