increase of nearly 75,000, or 0.78 percent, over 2007.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s state-run Xinhua news service said Saturday the number of private-sector companies and foreign-funded firms operating in China remained relatively stable despite the global economic downturn.<\/p>\n<p>SAIC said the central and western regions of China saw a large share of the growth while the number of companies in the
