Moldova will buy Russian gas at the price of US$316-317 per 1,000 cubic meters in the first quarter of this year. The announcement was made by the chairman of the Board of Moldova-Gaz SA Alexandr Gusev at a news conference.<\/p>\n

According to Gusev, the exact price will be announced in the near future, after collecting all the information about the evolution of oil prices in the past nine months.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Moldovan authorities said that the price of the Russian natural gas for Moldova could be decreased in the second half of 2009. Representatives of the national energy regulator ANRE stated that the purchase price of the natural gas will be higher in the first quarter of 2009, but lower in the second quarter. Therefore, the ANRE will not increase the gas charges for end-users in the first half of this year.<\/p>\n
