The investment plans of the three companies &#8211; RED Union Fenosa, RED Nord and RED Nord &ndash; Vest &ndash; have been approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).<\/p>\n<p>According to the head of the ANRE Audit Division Anatol Saracuta, this figure is by over 95 million lei higher than the yearly investments of 20 million euros planned in the national energy strategy until 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Under the investment plans, RED Union Fenosa will invest 251 million lei in 2009, RED Nord &ndash; 83 million lei, while RED Nord &#8211; Vest &#8211; 43 million lei. Saracuta said that the investments that will be made in the electro-energy sector this year are the largest in the last ten years. He also said that the investments could increase if RED Union Fenosa implements a number of additional investment projects that are now being examined.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the ANRE&rsquo;s decision, 297 million lei (79%) of the total investments will be used to extend the power lines and develop, reconstruct and renovate the transformer stations and the power lines inside apartment buildings.
