The internally held public debt to the National Bank of Moldova at the start of 2009 was 2.21 billion lei. It remained unchanged during over half a year.<\/p>\n

According to the central bank, the state debt on December 31, 2008 was serviced at an average interest rate of 19.05%, as against 19.21% on November 30, 19.07% on October 31, 19.24% on September 30 and 18.83% on August 31. The internal debt in July was serviced at a rate of 18.14%, in June at 16.97%, while in May at 16.2%.<\/p>\n

The state debt consists of state securities included in the central bank’s portfolio after converting the money borrowed earlier from the bank.<\/p>\n

At the start of 2008, the internal debt was 3.7 billion lei and was composed of loans worth 1.9 billion lei taken out from the central bank and state securities worth 1.8 billion lei<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
