The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) will approve the methodology of fixing the tariffs for producing renewable fuel and electric power by the end of this year. <\/p>\n

According to the ANRE executive director Marian Profir, the project will be initially examined by the interested state institutions, energy operators, employers associations, consumer protection organizations, trade unions. Afterward, it will be discussed at public meetings with the participation of foreign experts.

\nThe project provides the tariff framework for producing electric power on the basis of renewable sources of energy and for refining biofuel used in transport, the methods for calculating power and renewable fuel tariffs and the procedure for approving, reexamining and adjusting the tariffs. <\/p>\n

Under the document, the power and renewable fuel tariffs include the real consumption costs and expenses incurred by the producers and a higher profit rate. The rate is calculated on the basis of the profit rate of the capital invested in traditional energy multiplied by a coefficient fixed according to the period of activity of the producer. <\/p>\n

The document was formulated by experts of SWECO International AB, Sweden, and Pierce Atwood, the U.S., as part of a project of technical assistance offered by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency to Moldova.
