Moldova will allocate approximately US$28 million for putting a new irrigation system into practice. Such an announcement was made by the director general of Moldova’s Water Agency Veaceslav Iordan at a meeting that focused on the problems faced in agriculture, chaired by Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanai. <\/p>\n

According to Iordan, the system will also cover the south of Moldova, where the problem of irrigation is acute. It is planned that the area of irrigated land will be extended from 55,000 to 100,000 hectares.
