The state budget revenues in 2009 will be by 21% higher compared with those projected for this year, while the spending – by 23%, according to Government forecasts. <\/p>\n

The draft state budget law for 2009 approved by the Government on September 24 provides for revenues of 17.734,9 billion lei and an expenditure of 18.308,7 billion lei. The budget deficit is 573.8 million lei or 1% of the Gross Domestic Product. <\/p>\n

Minister of Finance Mariana Durleasteanu said that the projected budge deficit is larger than that stipulated in the memorandum with the International Monetary Fund, but the international financial organizations were consulted when drafting the budget law and they accepted such a deficit. <\/p>\n

The minister said that the budget deficit will be covered from revenues coming from privatization and from foreign loans. <\/p>\n

The draft state budget law for 2009 is based on a GDP growth of 6% and an inflation rate of 9.5%. The document will be submitted to the Parliament for examination until October 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
