The Government decided to offer tax concessions to the economic entities that will assist in liquidating the consequences of floods by purchasing, building and repairing houses or by transferring property to flood victims free of charge. <\/p>\n

At Wednesday’s meeting, the Government approved a draft law to exempt the economic entities that will make donations from paying taxes to the budget. The bill will be submitted to the Parliament for consideration when the MPs return from vacation. <\/p>\n

Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanyi said that such a decision was necessary as the people living in the flooded areas need assistance and the tax concessions would encourage the economic entities to help the victims. <\/p>\n

Under the legislation, the economic entities that donate or help build or reconstruct material goods should transfer 15% of the goods’ value to the budget. <\/p>\n

According to the Flood-Related Damage Assessment Commission, 1,813 houses and several hundreds of villas have been inundated by flood waters. <\/p>\n
