The economic expectations of the Moldovan entrepreneurs have turned sour, with the economic activity declining in summer. The Economic Sentiment Indicator in July stood at 117.8 points, by one point lower on June. <\/p>\n

According to the National Sentiment study made public by IDIS “Viitorul” on August 4, the economic expectations in the construction sector are the highest. <\/p>\n

Study author Mihai Bologan says that the farmers have great trust and this is a good sign. “The constancy of the agricultural companies is a good sign for the Moldovan economy because the season of agricultural works has already started and the economy depends on the results achieved in the area,” Bologan said. <\/p>\n

The expectations in the service sector and trade have weakened owing to the moderate activity of the consumers and to the instability on the currency market. <\/p>\n

The economic entities forecast an inflation rate of about 1% for August and of 2.47% for the next three months. Agriculture is the only sector where price reductions are expected. <\/p>\n

Bologan said that the Transdniestrian economic entities are more pessimistic about the expectations for the future than those from the right bank of the Dniester. The Economic Sentiment Index in Transdniestria stands at 113.7 points, by 4.17 points lower than on the right bank of the Dniester.
