The Transdniestrian authorities submitted its own proposals for resuming the activity of the diesel trains along the Chisinau-Odessa route. According to the director of Transdniestria’s Railway Serghei Martinko, Tiraspol is ready to jointly use the passenger trains, including the diesel trains that are kept in the barn in Bender. Transdniestria also wants to set up an international commission that would assess the technical condition of the trains. <\/p>\n

Tiraspol says that the employees of the Odessa Railway should insure the security of the trains on Transdniestria’s territory, while the Moldovan and Transdniestrian authorities should insure the movement of the trains in general. <\/p>\n

Tiraspol is against selling tickets in Bender and Tiraspol for Moldovan lei. It says that the tickets in these towns should be sold through special cash registers according to a scheme coordinated jointly by the administrations of Moldova, Transdniestria and Odessa. Tiraspol is also ready to sign an international agreement that would guarantee the protection of the vehicles crossing Transdniestria and the security of the passengers. <\/p>\n

The proposals were put forward at a meeting of representatives of Transdniestria and a EU delegation in Tiraspol on July 14. <\/p>\n
