Four foreign companies have been selected to take part in a contest where there will be chosen the financial consultant that will help privatize Banca de Economii. <\/p>\n

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the contest participants are: the French company BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking, the Georgian company GALT& Traggart, HSBC Bank SRL from the UK and a consortium consisting of the agencies Estimator–VM (Moldova), IAAG Consultoria (Spain) and MEINL Advisories (Austria). <\/p>\n

The technical offers of the four companies are now being examined by a working group formed of representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank of Moldova, the National Commission on Financial Market and the Public Property Agency. The contract with the winning company will be signed on September 30, 2008. <\/p>\n

Three rounds of auctions to sell public property have been held so far on the Stock Exchange of Moldova. The state sold its holdings in 66 companies for 207 million lei overall.
