The Ministry of Economy and Trade in concert with the Public Property Agency has announced the next round of auctions to sell public property. The auctions will take place on the Moldova Stock Exchange on September 22, 2008. <\/p>\n

According to the Economy Ministry’s press service, there will sold undividable holdings in a number of joint stock companies of special importance to Moldova’s economy. The tobacco plant Tutun CTC will be put up for sale for an initial price of 300 million lei. The state holds 90.8% of the plant’s shares. <\/p>\n

The Central Department Store UNIC located in the center of Chisinau will be also sold for 300 million lei. The state holding in the store is 82.3%. The state holding of 60.26% in the shoe factory Zorile will be auctioned for an initial price of 44 million lei, while the 59.4% state holding in SA Floare-Carpet for 72.5 million lei. <\/p>\n

SA Stigma will be offered for sale for an initial price of 35 million lei (state holding of 71.67%), SA Micron for 13 million lei (state holding of 72.11%) and SA Introscop for 32 million lei (state holding of 60.17%). <\/p>\n

Three rounds of auctions have been held so far. The state sold its holdings in 66 companies for 207 million lei overall.
