Investments in fixed capital in the first quarter of 2008 totaled 1.880,8 billion lei (US$182.2 million), an increase of 30.1% compared with the same period last year. <\/p>\n

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the volume of construction-assembly works rose by 13.9% compared with the corresponding period last year, up to 969.4 million lei (US$93.9 million). Apartments occupying an area of 84,700 square meters were put in commission during the first three months of this year, a decrease of 26.3%. <\/p>\n

Most of the investments were made by private companies. The key sources for financing investment activity in Moldova remain the own resources of the economic entities and the population and the foreign investment \/\/ Reporter.MD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
