The Moldcell has summed up the results of the II MOLDCELL Mobile Marathon among corporate clients. <\/p>\n

As Infotag was informed by the company’s administration, 11 companies became the winners of this marathon and received 23 trips abroad to make their holidays unforgettable: 15 trips to Thailand, 2 trips to Egypt, 2 trips to Turkey, and 4 trips to Romania. <\/p>\n

Moldcell Director General Yusuf Baykan said at the ceremony that by the company’s eighth anniversary the total investment figure represents 105 million USD. <\/p>\n

“We are glad to announce that we have a lot of good news to share: we were busy making investments that added 124 new base stations, which allowed us to increase the network capacity by 50% and to reach a geographical network coverage of 96%. We’ve made additional investments because the traffic increased by more than 50%, and our corporate clients segment has only enlarged by 42%”, he said. <\/p>\n

In his words, the next Mobile Marathon edition switches will have a new formula: all corporate clients holding postpaid lines, as of June 2008 will start receiving monthly discounts based on the number of lines and monthly spending. <\/p>\n

Answering journalists’ questions regarding France Telecom’s interest in TeliaSonera, Yusuf Baykan stated that there are no ongoing negotiations at the present time between France Telecom and Sweden. <\/p>\n

“It is very much premature to draw any conclusions of what is going to happen. The Swedish State, holding 37% of TeliaSonera shares, which a year ago announced about its readiness to sell a part of them, have also said that they are looking at other solutions\/opportunities for TeliaSonera”, he said. <\/p>\n

France Telecom Mobiles is the majority shareholder of the Orange M\u043eldova mobile telephony operator. TeliaSonera is the majority shareholder of Fintur Holdings BV, which owns the control block of Moldcell shares.
