The State Tax Service subdivisions will work on weekends – Saturday, March 22, Sunday, March 23 and Sunday, March 30 in order to receive the income tax statements for 2007, the Principal State Tax Inspectorate (IFPS) informs. <\/p>\n

The campaign for the submittal of income tax statements will last until March 31, and during this time, according to the legal provisions, all individuals should submit the papers on the income tax obtained last year at the territorial subdivisions of the Principal State Tax Inspectorate. <\/p>\n

According to an order issued by the IFPS, during these days, between 8.00 and 17.00, the employees of the IFPS territorial subdivisions will receive the income tax statements from the taxpayers at the territorial tax bodies or in mayoralties. Thus, “favorable conditions will be created for the taxpayers and the crowds will be avoided during the working days”. <\/p>\n

So the weekend days March 22, 23 and 30 are declared working days for the State Tax Service employees. At the same time, the IFPS established that during 24-28 and 31 March 2008, the people who receive the statements will work over programme hours, until 19.00, and on March 22, 23 and 30 the tax offices will work from 8:00 until 17:00. <\/p>\n

The number of individuals who submitted income tax statements for 2006 increased by 9.2% against previous year, reaching 62,628 people, the Inspectorate informs. <\/p>\n

In 2006 at least 34 Moldovan citizens reported for the previous year revenues higher than 1,000,000 lei (81.35 thousand USD), against 25 people in 2005. The number of millionaires accounts for about 0.05% in the total of those who submitted income tax statements, and the highest income earned by a Moldovan citizen in 2006 was equal to 8 mln 541 thousand lei. <\/p>\n

At the same time, the number of people with revenues between 500,000 lei and 1 mln lei dropped from 53 to 44. Other 182 people stated they earned revenues between 250,000 and 500,000 lei (131 people in 2005). Revenues below 250,000 lei, but more than 100,000 lei, were reported by 1,336 individuals as compared with 1,043 people in 2004. However, most of Moldovan taxpayers, over 62.4 thousand or over 97% of the total, showed revenues under 100,000 lei (8.13 thousand USD) for the last year. <\/p>\n

Over the past seven years, the income tax of individuals reduced from 28 to 20%. The income tax will further reduce.
