Moldovan Government and Russian Concern Gazprom convened upon the modification of the structure of the joint company MoldovaGaz, so that its stock capital includes the investments made by the state in the gasification sector over the recent years, informed Premier Vasile Tarlev on Thursday, February 21. <\/p>\n

The premier also specified for the press that by the end of February the representatives of the Russian concern will arrive in Chisinau to negotiate a new long-term contract on gas supply to Moldova, so that it includes provisions on increasing the volume of gas to transit Moldova to Europe. <\/p>\n

Vasile Tarlev said that during the discussions with Gazprom management in Moscow on February 20, the parties did not change the way of calculation of the gas supply price and rejected the rumors that this year the price will be increased by 30 USD. <\/p>\n

Gazprom increased as of January 1, 2008 the price for supplying gas to Moldova up to 191 USD per one thousand cubic meters against 170 USD as it was by the end of December 2007. <\/p>\n

At the end of 2006, Moldova and Gazprom signed a 5-year contract setting out that in 2008 the price will grow up to 75% of the European average (195 USD), in 2009 it will reach 80%, and by 2011 the price will be adjusted to the European average.  \/\/ BASA-Press<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
