The number of the unemployed officially registered in Moldova is about 20.68% higher against four months ago and is over 70 thousand people. <\/p>\n

Most of the unemployed are represented, in July-September 2007, by men – 60.1%, and the people from the urban areas – 65%, according to data of the National Bureau of Statistics (BNS). <\/p>\n

The number of people that have officially gone abroad to work is over 356 thousand people. <\/p>\n

At the same time, the number of the employed is 65.4% against the population number, BNS data show. By the activities from the national economy, 35.2% of people activate in the agricultural sector, and 45.5% work in auxiliary individual households, according to the distribution. The number of those engaged in medicine and education is 14.2%. <\/p>\n

The preliminary number of the steady population in Moldova (with visa permit) is over 3581 thousand, over 3432 thousand of which were in the country by January 1, 2007, according to official data. There were registered 780.3 thousand people with visa permit in Chisinau, on the same date, 25 thousand of which were gone abroad. <\/p>\n
