The Moldovan economy soared by 8.0% in January-July 2007, far over the analysts’ and the government’s forecasts, which anticipates an advance of seven per cent in 2007. <\/p>\n

The economy increased, in April-June 2007, by 8.55 against the level of early 2007, when it numbered 7.3%, the National Bureau of statistics of Moldova (BNS) announced on Monday. Moldova’s GDP was, in January-June 2007, in comparative prices, of 20 billi on 942 million lei, by 8.0% over the same period in 2006, according to BNS. <\/p>\n

"This is a really incredible increase in a year when the agricultural sector was severely affected by the drought leading to losses of one billion dollars", more analysts have said. <\/p>\n

The increase followed the growth by 17.1% of the net taxes per product and import, by 7.4% of the intermediary consumption, while the net VAT increased slower – by 6.2%, and the volume of the production – by 6.9%. <\/p>\n

Official statistics show a renewal of the economic advance in line with the reduction of the GDP increase to four per cent in 2006. <\/p>\n

Analysts of the centre Expert-Grup have formerly disputed the data regarding the GDP evolution made known by the official statistics. The quoted source was saying following the used methodology in calculating the GDP the increase was “arithmetically exag gerated” and it comes in contradiction with the reduction of the industrial production, the stagnation in agriculture, the decrease of the wine production, etc. <\/p>\n

Since 2001, the Molodvan economy has ascended. But, in 2006, the economic growth reduced by four per cent against 7.5% in 2005, namely, in line with tariff doubling for the natural gas from Russia and the embargo imposed also by Russia for wine exports a nd agro-alimentation production from Moldova. <\/p>\n
