ICS Danube Logistics SRL, the owner and operator of Giurgiulesti International Free Port, received, on September 12, 2007, the first laden maritime oil tanker at its oil terminal with 3,750 tons of oil products, a communique of Danube Logistics SRL says, reissued to BASA-press. The imported gasoline and diesel originates from Petromidia refinery in Romania and comply with EURO 4 standards. <\/p>\n

The oil products are being imported into Moldova by ICS BEMOL TRADING SRL, who has charted the double-hulled maritime oil tanker Arta operating under the flag of Barbados. <\/p>\n

“Today is a historic event, the first delivery of oil products by a maritime oil tanker to the Republic of Moldova. Moldova is now in the position to import oil products directly via the sea or the river Danube at competitive prices from the world market”, Giurgiulesti International Free Port and ICS Danube Logistics SRL Director Edgar Martin noted. <\/p>\n

\"\"ICS Danube Logistics SRL offers wide ranging logistic services to oil companies and oil trading companies operating in the Lower Danube region, in particular for their operations in Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. Giurgiulesti International Free Port is a maritime and river port strategically located on the border with Ukraine and Romania and therefore the EU. <\/p>\n

Over the coming years ICS Danube Logistics SRL plans to construct dry cargo and passenger terminals in addition to the existing oil terminal at Giurgiulesti International Free Port. In addition, ICS Danube Logistics SRL will continue to develop the port’s industrial free zone, which is available for rent to national and international companies. The transshipment of dry cargo is expected to start in the first half of 2008. <\/p>\n
