The European Action movement considers that the Moldovan authorities do not control the republic’s gas sector, which is very important for the development of the national economy. <\/p>\n

Movement Chairman Anatolie Petrenco said at a press conference in Infotag on Tuesday that because of the Moldovan Government’s inefficient policy Moldova accumulated enormous debts to the Gasprom. <\/p>\n

“Citizens pay their own money for the installation of gas supply for them. It had been possible to avoid many problems, if the Government has undertook the monitoring of the gas tariffs”, he said. <\/p>\n

In the opinion of the movement’s representative Tudora Soitu, the economically unsubstantiated police resulted in the fact that beginning from 1994 the Moldovan consumers paid more than $400 million in addition to their own gas consumption payments. <\/p>\n

“The European Action considers that the ruling Communist Party is unable to solve the gas installation problem, to settle the Transnistrian conflict and the reforms, conducted by President Vladimir Voronin confront with the principles of democracy and transparency. <\/p>\n
