The government purchased only 3.5 thousand tons of wheat for the state reserve of the total 30 thousand tons needed, within some tenders organized last week. The Agency for Material Reserves, Public acquisitions and Humanitarian Aid will organize new auctions, but there is little possibility the acquisition price to rise. <\/p>\n

"The state offered a price of three-3.5 lei a kg at the tenders organized in July 6-20. Perhaps, the farmers are still counting their expenses and that is why they do not hasten to sell the wheat", Agency Director Ion Turcan has said to BASA-press. <\/p>\n

The agency will organize in the near future new auctions, but the state price will not increase. "The price is favourable for our region", Turcan said. "The small quantity purchased for the state reserve “follows the unsatisfactory climate conditions; besides, the government is still negotiating with the farmers". <\/p>\n
