The individuals with law revenues will pay less taxes in the next years, and the fiscal pressure will be gradually transposed over the “population with average and above average revenues,” according to the Middle Term Spending Sheet (2008-2010), worked out by the Finance Ministry and submitted to the government for approval. <\/p>\n

The employees with revenues up to 25,200 lei per year will pay a 7% income tax, starting 2008. At present they pay a 7% tax for revenues up to 16,200 lei, and 10% for revenues ranging between 16,200-21,000 lei. <\/p>\n

The revenues exceeding 21,000 lei are applied a 20% tax. <\/p>\n

Starting 2008, there will be set only two taxes, up to 25,200 lei and above this sum, and the maximum income tax will decrease from 20 to 18%. <\/p>\n

The annual personal exemption will increase: <\/p>\n

2008 – 6,300 lei; 2009 – 7,200 lei; 2010 – 8,100 lei. <\/p>\n

Presently this exemption is of 5,400 lei. <\/p>\n
