The new Director General of the National Agency for Energy Regulations (ANRE), Vitalie Iurcu, took to his office after he had been introduced to the institution staff. <\/p>\n

According to an ANRE press release, Iurcu was introduced by the head of the Government Office, Nicolae Gumenii. Vitalie Iurcu was appointed as Director General of the ANRE for a four-year term during the Government sitting held last week. <\/p>\n

Iurcu stated he will make all the efforts for the ANRE to further support through its activities the reformation processes going on in the energy sector, to foster development of this market in order to ensure feasible supplies of electricity and gas to final consumers at reasonable prices and to enhance the quality of these services. <\/p>\n

The new ANRE Director General said that he highly appreciates "professionalism, patriotism, and ability of people to carry out teamwork, stressing that he will cooperate constructively with al ANRE specialists and participants to the energy market". <\/p>\n

Vitalie Iurcu is 35 years old. He graduated the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, economist engineer. He took his master’s degree in business administration in the USA. He has worked for more than ten years in international projects. He is specialized in finance and development management. <\/p>\n

The position of ANRE director general has been vacant for about three years. The last director was Vasile Carafizi, dismissed in 2003 only two months after his appointment to this position. The ANRE Administration Board also comprises two other directs: Nicolae Triboi (appointed in 2003) and Anatol Burlacov (2003). <\/p>\n

The National Agency for Energy Regulations was founded in 1997 as an authority of public government. It is a legal entity that does not subordinate to any other public or private authority.
