Russian phytosanitary service, Rosselihoznadzor, announced that it suspended meat and sausage imports from Hancesti-based Tehnostel-Car company, one of the three Moldovan companies accredited to carry out supplies at the beginning of this year, while the company refuted the information. <\/p>\n

"A lot of 60 tons of beef was seized at Troebortnoe passing point for not observing the sanitary norms and lack of compulsory export documents", announced Rosselihoznadzor cited by the Russian press. <\/p>\n

The Russian service stated that "the poor quality lot of meat" was returned back to Moldova, and Moldovan Sanitary Service was warned in relation to this incident. Rosselihoznadzor also announced that it suspended as of March 20 the import rights for this company. <\/p>\n

\"\"On the other hand, Director of Tehnostel-Car, Radu Bordeianu, refuted this information. "A lot of meat was stopped for a while at the customs point because we did not have all the necessary documents. This happened because after resumption of exports, formalities were introduced we knew nothing about. However, later these documents were produced and the meat reached the destination", Radu Bordeianu specified. "It was a purely technical procedures, and the products were absolutely safe", he also added. The company has supplied to Russia more than 100 tons of meat up to now. <\/p>\n

At the beginning of this year, Chisinau and Moscow signed an agreement on resumption of meat exports to the Russian market, which were blocked in April 2005. Only three companies were accredited for export: Tehnostel-Car (Hancesti), Mistor-Bras (Calarasi) and Nevelina (Chisinau). <\/p>\n

Earlier, Russia prohibited meat imports saying sanitary supply conditions not observed, and that Moldova re-exported sausages. <\/p>\n
