About 8,000 transactions of selling flats were registered in Chisinau in eleven months of 2006, almost two-fold less against 2005, when there were sold 16,500 apartments. <\/p>\n

Such data are included in the Chisinau?s General Urban Plan, worked out by the Urbanrpoject consortium, business Consulting Institute and IHS Romania. <\/p>\n

1,681 transactions on giving flats as gifts were registered in January-November 2006 (2,240 in 2005), and another 2,084 flats were bequeathed (3,379 in 2005). <\/p>\n

Starting 2002, a radical change occurred in the constructions? sector in Chisinau. Due to an increasing demand, the construction of residential dwellings became a profitable activity, and the average yearly pace of putting into operation the residential dwelling?s is of 125%, the plan?s authors have said. <\/p>\n

The demand for flats on the market and the lack of clear rules in the field of managing the land fund boosted the demand for land plots. At present, the people are willing to pay for an are of land from 10,000 dollars in the city?s districts up to 30,000 dollars in the downtown. The limited offer of land plots in the Chisinau?s suburbs determines their high prices. There are also registered transactions from 1,000 to 6,0000 dollars for an are of land. <\/p>\n
