The National Bank of Moldova says that the banking system of the country in the first nine months of the year made good progress. The first degree capital in this period rose by 19.7% and added up to 3.372,7 million lei late in September. <\/p>\n

The foreign investment increased by 4.2 percentage points up to 54.8%. The rise is due to the augmentation of the banks’ capitals from the investments made by the non-resident shareholders. <\/p>\n

The assets rose by 16.6% and totaled 20.917,6 million lei. Net credits increased by 22.1% up to 11.654,5 million lei. Most of the credits went to the enterprises from trade and industry – 48.9%, followed by the credits released in agriculture and food industry – 20.4%. The credits granted in winemaking in January-September added up to 1.524,4 million lei or 12.4% of the credits per banking system and 7.3% of the total assets. <\/p>\n
