Moldovan wine producers celebrated the annual National Wine Day with pleasure and optimism. <\/p>\n

Vismos company’s Chief Process Engineer Eugenia Dumbrava told Infotag correspondent that Vismos, an active participant in that annual event, is optimistic and confident in its future. <\/p>\n

"We are not losing hope that a moment will come when the Russian market will be open to us again. This year, we have grown an excellent grape harvest, which will let us make top-quality sparkling and still wines as well as brandies that should be a joy to Russian consumers", said Eugenia Dumbrava. <\/p>\n

She further held that Vismos indeed ships its produce to various countries, but these exports are fairly modest, for the main sales market is in Russia. <\/p>\n

"To my mind, the future of Moldovan wines belongs to the Russian market. Western markets are over-stocked, and it is extremely difficult to make one’s way onto them. Following Moscow’s claims, we have made very much to raise the quality of our products. I support the idea to establish a National Quality Center, which will be subjecting the wine sector’s entire produce to quality scrutiny", the expert said. <\/p>\n

Dumbrava pointed out that the delegations of foreign experts, who visited Vismos lately, placed its production process on one level with prominent Italian and French companies. <\/p>\n

Lion Gri Vice-President Nelly Sonik said her company makes its utmost to overcome current hardships. <\/p>\n

"I am convinced Moldovan wines have a good future, but this will take place not instantly. From the company’s very onset, we did not place our stake only on the Russian market, and we have always sought the least to participate in Russian exhibitions or tasting sessions. By now, our products are already available in many countries, and we need another 4-5 years to have our company’s name be heard on the world level", said Nelly Sonik. <\/p>\n

Mileştii Mici company’s sales department chief Maria Britvina also presumes local producers should not pray exclusively for the Russian market. <\/p>\n
